1998 Charmes-Chambertin, Bernard Dugat-Py: Ruby,with just a hint of garnet. Coffee, kernel, prune, farmyard, cardamom spice,...hint of burnt cream. Richness of flavours coating the mouth, with the firm tannin still gripping the palate with astringency, needing time to resolve. Medium acidity. Fleshy and opulent....a muscular wine but slightly lacking in elegance. Can be enjoyed now but with many more years ahead, 10 - 12+ years. 17.5/20
