1999 Leroy Corton-Charlemagne

6 February 2014:
Bright lemon with golden reflects. A complex nose of lemon, ripe pear, mango, apricot, honey overlaid with toasty and smokey notes. Intense stoney minerality and racy acidity on the palate. Waxy texture fills out the mid palate. A very fine and expressive Corton Charlemagne that impresses with lengthy mineral finish, layers of complexity and very precise detail. Sensational now and can be enjoyed over many years (6 - 8+ years, depending on storage conditions and your personal preference)! This bottle was purchased upon first release and had been stored in the UK.  19/20
